- Maulana Husain Ahmed Madani, Principal, Darul Uloom, Deoband laid the foundation for the New College Masjid on 2nd August

- New College Fine Arts Association presents Shakespeare’s Macbeth Drama at the Museum theatre from 13th to 15th November and familiars as dignitaries like Dr. A Lakshmanaswamy Mudaliar, Vice-Chancellor of Madras University, His Highness Prince of Arcot and Sri C. Subramanian, Education Minister attend the programme

- Shri B. Gopala Reddy, Minister of Revenue and Civil Expenditure, Government of India laid the foundation stone for the New College Hostel on 25th June and Hon’ble Shri C. Subramaiam, Minister for Finance and Education, Government of Madras also witnessed the event
