About the department


Being the largest Department, the department of Commerce was initially established as an Under Graduate Department in the year 1968, becoming the Post Graduate Department in the year 1984 and as a Research Department in the year 1996. The curriculum provides ample scope for creative thinking and participative learning. The curriculum has met the expectations of the corporate world as a large number of young, enterprising graduates are able to find suitable placements in reputed organizations.  The programme offered by this illustrious Department provides an in-depth knowledge in the key areas of Accounting, Finance, Research and Taxation. During the year 2018, it marked its 50thyear by way of Golden Jubilee Celebrations.

Commerce department has produced more than 150+ M.Phil. Scholars and more than 46 Doctorates so far. Apart from this, the Department has actively engaged itself in Skill Development Activities such as Commerce Bazaars, workshops and MOU with ICAI, Faculty &Students Exchange program and So on.
